Lania Boone
Lania Boone has worked extensively in both for profit and non-profit organizations. Since graduating with a BBS from Georgia State University, she has served in a variety of industries. While serving as Executive Director of Home Ownership Training Center (HOTC), the company worked with Freddie Mac to provide services for first time homebuyers in the 21 Steps to Home Ownership Program. HOTC also partnered with Freddie Mac in programs to render aid to evacuees of Hurricanes Katrina and Rita by operating a call center that directed clients to needed services. HOTC also offered housing counseling assistance to the evacuees, helping them to locate temporary housing in Georgia. If they wanted to remain in Georgia permanently, HOTC offered them housing counseling in preparation for home purchases in the Atlanta area.
As Executive Director of Electronic Training Resources, Lania worked with Freddie Mac to develop a prototype of online housing counseling training to be utilized for educating housing counselors. E-Cert was eventually used by NeighborWorks America for their housing counseling agency affiliates to receive preparation for certification.
While serving as an Accounting Specialist in the religious community, Lania has coordinated accounting activities for churches in Virginia, Connecticut, and Georgia. Simultaneously, she served as Secretary to the Board of Directors at the Green Forest Community Development Corporation in Atlanta, Georgia. She is inspired by her love of God, her husband, and her son. Lania also enjoys investing, relaxing with friends, and movies.
